Pleased to announce our new Olympic Spirit vigils. The art is drawn from descriptions found in Denning & Phillips' classic Planetary Magick. I have always loved their charming orientalist vibe! I'm assuming these are based on the Aurum Solis line of transmission or perhaps the authors' own visionary encounters. Whatever the case may be - they are alive with magical potency.
The Olympic Spirits, as described in the Arbatel de Magia Veterum (1575), are seven celestial beings, each tied to a classical planet and governing specific cosmic provinces. Named Aratron (Saturn), Bethor (Jupiter), Phaleg (Mars), Och (Sun), Hagith (Venus), Ophiel (Mercury), and Phul (Moon), they administer divine destinies, wielding powers like transmutation, healing, and wisdom. Invoked through prayer and sigil, these spirits offer mystical abilities to those aligned with ethical intent, as outlined in the Arbatel’s Christian framework.

And if you want you can "double dip" your petition by pairing an Olympic with their corresponding Planetary Archangel!  This would be my recommended way of working since the archangel will better direct any potentially unruly planetary forces. And you may ask  - why petition the Olympics? Simply put; they are more materially oriented than angels and will be quicker and more direct in manifesting "earthier" requests (as can be gleaned from their abilities listed in the Arbatel).

• Notes: Phaleg’s abilities are notably narrow, focusing solely on martial honor, which aligns with Mars’ association with war and aggression. The Arbatel’s brevity here suggests a specialized role, and the lack of mention of subjects or legions raises questions about his hierarchy compared to other spirits.

His large number of legions (100,000) contrasts with his fewer provinces, suggesting a broad but less centralized influence. • Notes: Phul’s abilities are practical and healing-oriented, reflecting the Moon’s association with water and nurturing. The specific mention of dropsy suggests a medical focus, possibly tied to lunar influence over bodily fluids. His smaller scope (7 provinces) aligns with the Moon’s subtle, cyclical nature.
